BLOG – Change of Topic

6 01 2010

This blog, as of 1/6/10, has changed topics from car modifications and maintenance tips, to car safety and accident preventions as well as accident stories.

I decided to change this blog topic because of an unfortunate event that occurred. On January, 2 2010 I got into an accident that almost left me in a coffin.

MustangWreck

I was at a four way intersection. I proceeded to accelerate gently until 35 MPH. When I shifted from 2nd into 3rd gear, my tires began to spin because of the broken sprinklers lined up for about 150 feet. I lost control of the car. The back spun violently. I was heading towards a pole on the drivers side and I had to swerve out of the way or else I would have died. I then was heading for a tree on the right side. I jumped the curb and it sent me sideways. I had no time to react. I slammed sideways into a tree.

The damage above was from a 35 MPH crash. When roads are wet, they are extremely dangerous. It takes 1/16 of an inch for a car to hydroplane. It takes less then a millisecond to lose control. It takes 0 seconds to die.

Be careful when you drive. Go the speed limit. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT.

If I was not wearing my seat belt, I would have died for sure. Having the accident play back in my head is the worse thing I can imagine. It happens 24/7. It has changed my life forever. I think of the possibilities.. What if someone was on the sidewalk and I hit them?  What if I hit on my side.. What if I rolled over.. Never getting to speak to my parents again. Never getting to tell them I love them. It would be over. Everything.

People may brush it off there shoulder like it is nothing, but it is just a coverup. It’s a lie. They are hurting on the inside and you need to be sympethetic. It’s a life changing experience and it could happen to you.

Drive safe. Be Well. Always wear your seat belt.

—- EDIT 1/7/09

Here is a video of a 2010 model mustang in a handled crash test. This is done at 32 KM/H or 19.5 MPH. Observe the damage. I was going 35 MPH. I almost doubled that. I also was in a previous model of the mustang, which ofcourse had less of a safety rating. I was also in a convertible which makes the chance of injury and damage higher.

First Video! – Rev From Under The Hood!

19 10 2009

Hey guys, I just found this cool thing on my car this morning. I knew it was there, I just couldn’t find it. On some cars you can rev the engine from the throttle body (explained in video). It’s just something cool that I thought I should show you guys, maybe you are interested. Check on your cars if you have the same thing!

I hope you enjoyed this video!

P.S: Adding an CAI or SRI will increase horsepower and engine sound!

My Review On Item: K&N Filter

15 10 2009

About a month ago I have purchased a K&N high performance filter. I am pleased to say that I am thrilled with this purchase. I have noticed an increase of horsepower at around 4000 RPMS.

This product cost me 54 usd. For the horsepower to money spent ratio, I have gotten more then my moneys worth.

I suggest that anyone should spend this small fee on a new K&N high performance filter or any other reputable company.

Other companies that I would suggest for a similar product would be AEM, JLT, and FUJITA.

Overall I would rate this product 9/10.

On the car performance website, Autoanything, there are many great reviews for this product. The product a 4.5/5. Feel free to view the reviews at and other similar websites by clicking anywhere on this text.

Which One To Buy?

15 10 2009

Todays post will be a short post about manufacturers that I highly recommend. The subject is performance parts (CAI’s).

The parts I am looking at for my Hyundai Tiburon GT Limited at the moment are Cold Air Intakes.

A Brief review on the Cold Air Intake(CAI)

- A Cold Air Intake is what takes the air from outside, and sends it into your engine. The filter is was cleans the air ( improving performance ) as well as adding horsepower. In some cases just added a filter will add horsepower to your car. I added a K&N air filter to my car and received close to 5 horsepower. The actual Cold Air Intake is sucking the air into your car. The colder the air, the higher performance your car will get.

An aftermarket CAI can cost from around 80 usd to 500 or more usd. The one i am looking at is closer to about 275. It is an AEM CAI. AEM being the manufacturer. There are many other reputable companies for instance, Fujita, K&N, JLT, AEM, and many others. Those 4 I highly recommend. Unfortunately I can not show you guys the installation because I do not have the proper tools to do the installation.

An estimated 10-17 HP on average is added to your car due to the AFTERMARKET CAI.

Many website including the AEM website has an easy search for your car by entering the Make, Model, Year, and Trim.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Come back to read more soon! Please send me any ideas you have or subjects you want discussed and I will do my best to answer your questions! Thanks!

Future Upgrades And Current Upgrades

13 10 2009

My car is a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GT Limited. It has a power V6 179 H.P Engine. It may not be alot of horsepower, but it has a kick! The car was geared execellently and really moves when I want it to. It is a manual transmission becuase manual improves speed. I plan to add 4 main components to my car.

1. Magnaflow Catback System.

2. Cold Air Intake/ Short Ram Intake.

3. New L.E.D’s

4. Add A 12 Inch Sub Or Replace My Current One.

My goal is to really add about 30 horsepower to my car. I love getting hands on with my car and doing things myself. I love to work with engines and experience how to make upgrades on my car. Ever since I was little cars have been my passion. I hope you enjoy this blog and learn alot about cars! In this blog you will learn how to perform upgrades on your car, and do basic maintnence. You will also watch reviews on products and be informed on some things you may want to do to your car to improve live, performance, and gain gas mileage. This is a really fun topic and I hope you get alot out of it!

Here is my car. Currently my only upgrade is a K&N Air Filter. I love it and it does its job great! ( The blue car is not mine. It’s just an example. I will have my car engine up soon! )
